Pritzker Architecture Prize: winners and how it is awarded
The Pritzker Architecture Prize was established in 1979 by Jay A. Pritzker and Cindy Pritzker through the Hyatt Foundation. It honours a living architect or architects whose built work has made significant contributions to humanity and the built environment.2
How the winner is chosen
An independent jury of internationally respected professionals from several disciplines selects the laureate. The prize organisers say the jury works confidentially and free from external influence. The prize honours living architects, and nominations are made through a separate nomination process described on the prize website.
